Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, I possess the required licensing and general liability insurance to provide Handyman Services in the state of Michigan.

What services do you provide?

I provide a vast range of residential and commercial repair and improvement services, including electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing. Additionally, I specialize in hard-to-hire services such as furniture assembly, Ikea product installations and assemblies, and swing set setups, as well as projects that require expertise in various other trades.

What is your pricing model?

I typically charge a flat fee for installation projects, such as ceiling fans, door installations, and new plumbing fixtures, which are standard across homes and don’t require an in-person assessment for bidding (see My Flat Rate Pricing). For smaller tasks like drywall repairs, furniture assembly, sticking doors, and electrical diagnostics, I prefer an hourly rate. My hourly fee is $100 for the first hour, which is the minimum for any project, and $30 for each additional 30 minutes of labor. I am open to starting most projects on an hourly basis and can provide a flat rate once I assess the project in person. For larger remodeling jobs, such as kitchens, bathrooms, decks, or basements, an on-site visit is needed to give an accurate estimate. Please note that due to rising fuel costs, I charge a $50 fee for this service, which is fully refundable if you choose to hire me for the project or a significant portion of it—consider it a deposit on my labor.

Do you provide any warranties or guarantees?

Absolutely, I offer a satisfaction guarantee for all my services. If you're not happy with the outcome, I will ensure it's corrected.

What are your service hours?

I work by appointment only and am available every day of the week from 8 AM to 8 PM. Typically, I accept appointments twice, starting at 10 AM and again at2 PM, but I am happy to adjust my schedule to meet your needs. Appointments outside of regular hours may be classified as after-hours or emergency visits and could incur an additional fee, to be determined. Additionally, I offer emergency repairs 24/7.

What payment methods do you accept?

I primarily prefer cash, but to make it more convenient, I also accept credit/debit cards, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and other similar electronic payment options. Please note that any payment that incurs a processing fee will be passed on to the customer (typically around 3%). Personal checks are no longer accepted without prior authorization, while business checks are always welcome.

What is your service area?

I primarily serve southeastern Michigan and do not operate in Canada. My service includes Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Washtenaw counties. I am open to servicing some areas beyond these counties for a small trip charge, recognizing the challenges of finding reliable contractors in rural regions. If you're located outside my service area, please reach out to see if I can assist you.

What happens if you're contracted for a flat-rated project, such as installing a ceiling fan, and the client requests extra work while you're there? How would the billing work?

I'm always happy to assist my customers with any additional tasks during service calls. For billing, I would charge the rate for the ceiling fan installation, which is usually $125, and any extra labor would be billed at $30 for every additional 30 minutes. The initial $100 hourly fee doesn't apply here since the minimum project fee was met with the ceiling fan installation, so any extra non-flat-rate work would be charged at my standard rate of $30 for each half hour.
